Education Programs
The Dy. Director Education and Training conduct regular education programs to students from academic institutions and other organizations, if any. Most of these are certified programs, with the participants receiving due certificates in the end. Our education programs are tailored to cater to the needs of various end users. College students (UG, PG and higher courses in Zoology) – High-level herpetology including theory classes and practical sessions, covering topics such as systematic, ethology, natural history, biogeography and scientific writing. Veterinary students are also welcome to network with us for conservation and husbandry-oriented projects aiming at improved health of our captive stock. School students and general public – basic topics such as ecological value of snakes, their conservation importance, snakebite, first-aid and management. Uniform staff (Forest Dept., Fire and Rescue Services, Army, Security guards) – awareness program on man-snake conflict mitigation, proper snake removal and relocation techniques and snakebite, first-aid and management. Any other specific or specialized programs will also be considered on a case by case basis and the contents customized to meet such specific demands.
